Privacy & terms

Privacy policy

Achuray is a browser-to-browser file transfer service. Today, it is built around one principle: your files should never touch our servers. As we add features, some data may be stored — but only with your knowledge, only with privacy-preserving techniques (such as end-to-end encryption), and only as described in this policy.

What we don't collect today

As of the date above, the following is true:

  • We do not collect the contents, names, or sizes of the files you transfer.
  • We do not collect personal data such as your name or email — there are no accounts.
  • We do not store IP addresses alongside transfer activity.
  • We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for advertising.

If a future feature requires storing any of the above, we will update this policy before launching it and clearly disclose what is stored, why, for how long, and how it is protected.

What we do collect

We use privacy-friendly analytics to measure aggregate traffic and keep the service running. Our current analytics providers are:

  • Cloudflare — CDN, DDoS protection, and edge analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate page views and session metrics, anonymized where possible. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Cloudflare Zaraz — event measurement that keeps browser-side tracking to a minimum.
  • Beacon — lightweight error and performance reporting.

If we add additional tracking or analytics providers in the future, we will list them here before they become active.

How transfers work today

Files travel directly between the sender's and receiver's browsers over an encrypted connection. Our servers only help the two browsers find each other and set up the transfer — once the transfer begins, your file data does not pass through Achuray infrastructure.

Future features — such as optional cloud relay, persistent links, or encrypted storage — may involve storing file data on our servers. If so, that data will be end-to-end encrypted so that we cannot read it, and you will be informed and given a choice before any such feature is used.

Data retention

  • Room records expire automatically a short time after they are created.
  • Connection data is held only for the duration of a transfer session.
  • If a future feature stores data at rest, this section will specify the retention period and how to request deletion.
  • Analytics data is retained by our providers per their own policies.

Your rights

Today, because we do not collect personal data or maintain user accounts, requests such as access, deletion, or portability do not apply to transfer activity. If we introduce features that involve personal data, we will provide a way to exercise these rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) at that time. For questions about this policy, contact [email protected].

Children

Achuray is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Service evolution

Achuray is under active development. We may introduce features that involve additional data processing — for example, encrypted file storage, persistent transfer links, user accounts, or enhanced analytics. When we do:

  • We will update this policy before the feature launches.
  • We will disclose what data is collected, why, and how long it is kept.
  • Wherever feasible, we will use privacy-preserving techniques such as end-to-end encryption, so that we cannot access your data even when it is stored on our infrastructure.
  • Features that involve materially different data practices will be opt-in wherever possible.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of use

By using Achuray, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Achuray helps two browsers establish a direct, encrypted connection for file transfer. Today, we do not store, host, or transmit the files ourselves. Future features may add optional storage or relay capabilities; those will be described here and in the privacy policy when introduced.

Your responsibilities

  • You must have the legal right to share any file you transmit.
  • You agree not to use Achuray to share content that is unlawful, infringes IP, or violates the rights of others.
  • You agree not to attempt to overload, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service.
  • You are responsible for keeping the sender browser tab open until the transfer completes.

Acceptable use

  • No malware, phishing payloads, or content that exploits recipients.
  • No bulk or automated transfer behavior that bypasses normal use of the UI.
  • No use of the service to harass, stalk, or deceive recipients.

No warranty

Achuray is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or that transfers will complete successfully. Transfers depend on browser support, network conditions, and both peers staying online.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Achuray and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data arising from use of or inability to use the service. Because we do not currently store your files, we generally cannot recover them if a transfer is interrupted — re-send instead. If a future feature involves storage, the applicable recovery and backup terms will be described here when introduced.

Third-party services

The service relies on third-party infrastructure (Cloudflare, Google Analytics, and standard browser technologies). Their terms and policies apply when you interact with them. We may add or change third-party providers as the service evolves; material changes will be reflected in this document.

Termination

We may restrict or block access for anyone who violates these terms. You can stop using the service at any time by closing the browser tab.

Cookie policy

Achuray uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics, consent management, and security. We do not use cookies for advertising.

Cookies we use today

  • Consent preference — remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies so we don't ask twice.
  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics and Cloudflare Zaraz to measure aggregate traffic (page views, session duration). These are only loaded after you accept.
  • Essential cookies — set by Cloudflare for security and bot protection. These cannot be disabled.

If future features require additional cookies or tracking technologies, they will be listed here before they become active, and — wherever feasible — gated behind your consent.

Managing cookies

You can change your consent choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer, or clear cookies in your browser settings. Rejecting analytics cookies does not affect transfers — the service works the same either way.

No advertising cookies

Achuray does not partner with ad networks and does not place advertising cookies. Your browsing behavior is not shared with advertisers.

The direct route for your biggest files. Built with privacy in mind.

Your files never touch our servers — transfers happen directly between browsers over WebRTC. We use Cloudflare, Google Analytics, Zaraz, and Beacon to collect anonymous traffic metrics (page views, aggregate stats). No personal data or file content is ever stored, sold, or shared. No account required.
